Thousand Steps Beach
1000 Steps Beach is a long sandy beach
Perfect for sunning, volleyball, and skimboarding
in South Laguna Beach!

There’s not quite 1000 steps down the beach access staircase to Thousand Steps Beach, (its actually just under 230 - or about 12 flights) but there are enough steps to get you breathing hard on the way back up!

It's common to find locals swimming, tidepooling, snorkeling, diving, skimboarding and playing volleyball on this beautiful beach. And did we mention- there's a really cool CAVE at the southern end of the beach?!?

Rumor has it that there's some great diving (snorkeling and scuba) in the reefs on both sides of the beach, but I have yet to carry gear down the steps to find out. If you decide to go exploring, most locals recommend the reef toward the right- send me a message and let me know what you think!

As you descend the stairs, eventually the foliage cover clears and you’ll get your first look at this beautiful beach	(First look at 1000 Steps Beach from the stairs)
(Skimboarders at 1000 Steps Beach)	The shorebreak draws skimboarders from all over to glide across the soft sand of 1000 Steps Beach and launch through the waves!
You could also play volleyball on this sandy beach! The court is set up on the far right of the beach!	(Volleyball court)
(Home on the cliff)	And of course just like most beaches in Laguna Beach, you’ll find amazing homes nestled into the cliffs!
If you enjoy exploring the local marine life- you'll find fun tidepools here
	If you plan to spend your day here, make an effort to enjoy the sunset. The beautiful colors of the sky during the setting sun is definitely worth it!

1000 Steps Beach Cave

The Cave at Thousand Steps Beach is located at the south end of the beach
	This is a little closer look inside the cave. During daylight, it's really well lit- because of the large entrances at both ends!
This is the view looking out of the southern end of the cave. On the other side, lies a private beach with some small tidepools.

Beyond the Cave at Thousand Steps Beach

Beyond the southern entrance to the cave at Thousand Steps Beach, there is a private beach
	but you also might find a beautiful sunset setting behind the waves as they crash upon the rocks!
There are also some small sandy tidepools

Since most visitors will be driving to Thousand Steps Beach, you should be aware that there is very limited parking Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Additional free parking on the residential streets across PCH. Be courteous and make sure that you don’t block any driveways!
